On Beast Island, Catra and Shadow Weaver use robot terror terriers to round up the conceals, who have been sneaking fresh fruit to the prisoners in the Horde dungeons. Paa-Pee is captured, but Laa-See escapes. In the Whispering Woods, Adora and Spirit are relaxing and Loo-Kee has just been caught sneaking one of Adora's thermo franks when cries for help lead them to Laa-See in a river. Laa-See tells Loo-Kee that all their people, his father included, are prisoners. Adora becomes She-Ra, Spirit becomes Swift Wind, and they fly the two conceals toward the island, beating off Catra's robot batmaxes and bringing down her jet. Near the prison camp they clear the old secret tunnel, which turns out to be a trap that drops She-Ra and Laa-See into the Slime Pit. The Slime Pig owns a liquid that dissolves the slime. Loo-Kee takes it, She-Ra tells him stealing is wrong, and he hands it back, so the Pig frees them. She-Ra wrecks the freeze cannons and the force fence, the prisoners go free, and Catra ends up in the Slime Pit herself. Loo-Kee closes with a lesson about stealing.
Loo-Kee: "Hi! I'll bet you saw me today. I was in the whole show! And boy was it exciting! But did you see me when I was hiding? If not, here's another look. See me now? There I am! Today, I learned a lesson about stealing. I learned it was wrong to steal, even if you think you have a good reason. There's no good reason for taking something that doesn't belong to you. Let's all remember that. I know I will. Bye now."
Loo-Kee: "No, thanks. I already have one."
Loo-Kee: "I don't know, Laa-See. Even if I could reach you, I'm not strong enough to pull anyone out of the slime."
Slime Pig: "Hey, watch what you're saying about slime."
She-Ra: "It's not right to steal, even to set us free."
Slime Pig: "Since you were nice to me, hey, I'll be nice to you."
Before the stealing lesson arrives, there is a stolen snack. Loo-Kee's Sweety opens its Whispering Woods scene with Adora asking what happened to her thermo frank, and the culprit is Loo-Kee, caught with it in hand. When someone offers him one anyway, he says, "No, thanks. I already have one." It is a throwaway gag, but it plants the subject early. A story about taking what is not yours starts with a little snack theft, and nobody minds.
Beast Island supplies the real trouble. Catra and Shadow Weaver stand on a cliff while the terror terriers round up the conceals, and the crime they are punishing is a gentle one: "Bringing fresh fruit to the prisoners." Laa-See later explains how it began. The conceals found a secret way into the Horde dungeons, could not free anyone, and so "brought them fresh fruits and vegetables to keep them healthy." The Horde answer is robot dogs. The script plays the mismatch for pathos rather than laughs. It works because the conceals' weapon is so small.
The middle stretch is brisk. Adora and Spirit pull Laa-See from the river, Loo-Kee hears that his father Paa-Pee is among the captives, and She-Ra flies the two conceals to the island on Swift Wind. Catra's robot batmaxes attack on the way. She-Ra answers with her sword turned into double lassos, then goes after Catra herself and tells her, "Let's play Follow the Leader and it looks like you lose." Catra goes down shouting, "She got my engines. I'm going down!" The air fight is short and tidy. Catra's promise to meet again on Beast Island sets up the trap.
The Slime Pit is the standout. Catra's booby trap drops She-Ra and Laa-See into a pool that drains their strength, and Loo-Kee, left free, admits he cannot pull anyone out: "I'm not strong enough to pull anyone out of the slime." The Slime Pig turns up, bristling when someone calls the slime disgusting: "Hey, watch what you're saying about slime." He has a liquid that dissolves the stuff, but he asks, "why should I help you? You've never done anything for me." Loo-Kee grabs the test tube. She-Ra tells him flatly, "It's not right to steal, even to set us free." Loo-Kee gives it back and says, "I'm sorry I tried to steal your property." The Pig, won over, answers, "Since you were nice to me, hey, I'll be nice to you." The Pig supplies the comedy and She-Ra the lesson, and neither gets in the other's way.
The weak spot is the father. Paa-Pee is the reason Loo-Kee leaves the woods, and Laa-See names him as one of the captives. After that the dialogue never mentions him again. The prison break ends with a crowd of conceals in the forest, but no reunion is spoken. A rescue with a personal stake ought to pay it off. This one lets the stake slip out of sight.
Catra gets the best closing joke. She ends up in the pit herself and says "I hate slime!" and the Pig, as if on cue, answers with "Hey, watch what you're saying about slime." Loo-Kee's tag then states the moral outright: it was wrong to steal, "even if you think you have a good reason." The lesson is gentle, a little contrived, and tied to a good gag. It is a light, likeable outing.
- Continuity: Catra and Shadow Weaver watch the roundup of the conceals from a cliff above the sea, and Catra later flies her own jet at the head of black fighter ships.
- Continuity: Adora raises the sword and says "For the honor of Grayskull!", and Spirit becomes Swift Wind in the same flash.
- Production: Written by Bob Forward and directed by Ernie Schmidt; first aired 1986-09-12 as episode 6 of season two.
- Note: Loo-Kee's tag opens with "I was in the whole show!" and is literal here: he is in the story from the thermo frank onward.
- Note: The Slime Pig's line about slime is used twice, first when he is introduced and again after Catra drops into the pit.
