How NYCC 2026 turned out for He-Man

The rest of this page is the record as we wrote it before and during the show. Sessions described there were billed, not observed, unless a line says we read a report of them. This part is the after-action read.

  • He-Man had one session on the NYCC 2026 schedule, the Dark Horse and Mattel Make Comics! panel, billed for Sunday, October 11, 4:00 to 4:45 PM in North Room 406.3. We found no coverage of what it showed, and no announcement of dates for the later Masters of the Universe: Genesis arcs.
  • Comics Beat's list of Dark Horse programming, read October 14, names the panelists as Jenny Bingham-Blenk, Ben Kahn, Natalie P. Nardozza and Reilly Brown, with Mattel's Ryan Ferguson moderating. That answers the question this page left open on October 4, as a billing. We have not read a report of the panel itself.
  • Mattel's convention news that we could find was the DC Collector reveal at the DC booth, 4365, on Thursday. Our watch logged no He-Man reveal from the booth. We cannot read the official NYCC pages, so that is a statement about what we found.
  • The Super7 session on Thursday was not billed as Masters of the Universe, and across the whole watch we recorded no Masters of the Universe announcement from it.
  • The four Masters of the Universe comics exclusives came from independent exhibitors, as listed on October 4. We found no Mattel He-Man convention exclusive on that list.
  • The Masters of the Universe news of the week came from outside the show: physical pre-orders for the Dragon Pearl of Destruction Collector's Edition opened on October 12.

How our guesses turned out

  • Our guess The sneak peeks at the Sunday panel may include dates for the later Masters of the Universe: Genesis arcs. What happened We found no announcement of dates for those arcs as of October 14, 2026, and no coverage of what the panel showed. A web search for post-panel coverage returned only the pre-show Dark Horse programming list.
  • Our guess Mattel's DC booth, 4365, may be where He-Man news is revealed. What happened Our watch logged no He-Man reveal from the booth, and the reports on the Thursday DC Collector reveal did not mention He-Man. We found no Mattel He-Man announcement tied to the show.

What we know and what we do not

Confirmed, our guess, and still open

Confirmed

  • Dark Horse and Mattel hold a comics panel on Sunday, October 11, 4:00 to 4:45 PM ET, in North Room 406.3 (read on the official schedule October 4).
  • Dark Horse is at booth 4451 (read on the NYCC exhibitor list October 4). Mattel is not a standalone exhibitor on the list we read October 4, but Mattel will be on the floor at the DC booth, 4365, for a Mattel DC Collector reveal on Thursday at 12 PM ET (Toy Habits, Toyark). Those reports do not mention He-Man.
  • Four Masters of the Universe comics are listed as NYCC exclusives by East Side Comics, Comics Elite LLC and Sean Forney (read October 4).
  • Super7 founder Brian Flynn and Esoteric of CZARFACE hold a Walmart Collector Con session on Thursday, October 8 at 3 PM ET.

Our conjecture

These are our guesses. Nobody has announced them.

  • The "sneak peeks of upcoming projects" at the Sunday panel may include the next arcs of Masters of the Universe: Genesis. Dark Horse has already said later arcs will come from Cavan Scott, Nick Roche, John Harris Dunning, Giovanna La Pietra and Tiffany Smith, with no dates, so the panel is a natural place to put dates on them. This is our guess.
  • Mattel is on the show floor at the DC booth, 4365, and our guess is that booth is where He-Man and Masters of the Universe news could be revealed too, just not yet. Mattel has announced only the DC Collector reveal for Thursday at 12 PM ET. He-Man news could also come at Sunday's panel or through Mattel's own channels.

Not known yet

  • Which Dark Horse creators are on the Sunday panel. The part of the listing we could read does not name them.
  • Whether Mattel shows any He-Man or Masters of the Universe toy at the panel. We have not seen Mattel say.
  • Whether Super7 will talk about its Masters of the Universe lines on Thursday. It has said toys, collecting and all things Super7, and nothing more.
  • Whether the official NYCC schedule and exclusives pages have changed since we read them on October 4. They load with scripts our tools cannot read, so we cannot say what they list today.
